Great game!

Reminded me just a little bit of the Thief games, where the idea was to sneak past them, not kill them. This, however, was so completely Solid Snake. All he needs is a bandana, and possibly a socom. Still, I like the idea of the sneaking around with the LOS and everything, but I found it kind of unbelievable how the guards would see and identify an enemy, but when he slips out of sight, just ignore ever seeing him in the first place. Or they'd follow him behind a wall and look around for a while before giving up. Still, it's a cool idea, but it would be more of a challenge if you had to be standing behind them to break their necks, otherwise you can just tap space bar and run up to them.

I have to agree with the larger majority of newgrounds in agreeing that the game controls are somewhat irksome. Some of the levels are too hard, some of the levels are too easy, and some of them take wit far beyond that of the average newgroundling. It took me almost half an hour to get past the level with two doors and one switch! The stage after that though... I ran out of patience, and unfortunately, gave up.

For such a simple game, this was marvellously done. Commendable work.

PS: Snake forever!

Definitely an awesome game!

Brilliant idea, masterminded by such utter simplicity. It took me a long time to pass certain stages. What I really loved about it was that there was no real correct answer- you could customise your own victory. Alas, after about 45 minutes, I had to stop because I was just so darn tired! I love everything about this game though, from all the small genius to all the brilliant executions. Cool music, too!

A very simple game.

Perhaps the simplicity represents life as a planktonic organism? Nah not likely. I lost interest when I realised it wasn't progressing.

By "controlled with the mouse", I thought it would follow your cursor. Resultantly, I spent my first life randomly battering fish. I got kinda put off after that.

All the same, it didn't seem to really be going anywhere, so I just stopped playing. Not quite a waste of time, but not entirely fun, either. While the idea was decent, it just didn't go anywhere. Well done on a good game nevertheless, but try and add a little more variety.

Excellent idea!

Perfect video game music. It reminded me painstakingly of Mario Party. Absolutely classic.

Question. Where are their clothes?

I loved the idea behind the game! Sequencing an event of orders in order to time following events to come. The upgrades were marvellous! This did remind me, just a little, of War Bears. Bit dodgy on the graphics, but that didn't really reduce the gameplay. Unique style of game, at least to me, and very challenging!

Anyways, to the walkthrough, because I know you're all dying for one. It took me a while, I'll give you that. Bravo!

So many awesome games to look at, but of all of them, I played this one because the idea of protecting the galaxy from humankind is right down my alley. I'm a very cynical person, and I almost genuinely believe we all deserve to die. Almost. Anyways, the storyline was great, with a charming introduction. I reckon we could possibly wipe ourselves out a dozen times over :P

An excellent game. A little trick at first, but once you got into it, man. Excellent stuff! If only I had known the shield recharges. Still, still, marvellous gameplay with dainty humour. Penguins are the Lords of the Earth, or at least they should be. I pay tribute to them every time I go to the zoo. Sad little life I lead, I know, but as soon as the penguins take over, I'll be their general. Just you wait.

Hail the penguins!

Creative, I'll give you that.

Such a simple genius behind the game. Very much enjoyable with plenty to explore, but not a great deal else to say. I liked the music, too. This game kinda reminds me of a quote- how he keeps coming back to life after every death.

"As Lord Rannon is unfortunately about to discover during his ritual suicide, the gods got the last laugh by making him immortal."

Wow!

Well that was interesting, I must say. Cool music, in its own style. Not entirely my type, but I could sort of appreciate it all the same. Interesting idea, and a very smooth blend between cartoon and image. Not a great deal to say, except I would LOVE to be able to zap things with my finger.

Kinda reminded me of J-Rock.

Sequel to Battle for Gondor, huh?

Prince of War. Sounds just a little like Prince of Persia, which is why I like the idea so much. However, I felt his character design could have been just the slightest bit cooler. I'm especially grateful, though, that the hero can partake in the main battle. A vast improvement from the first version, though it kind of takes the tactics down a little, because now the units aren't quite as important when you have an extra soldier running around, faster and stronger than half your infantry. His reach is also slightly longer than the orcs, so it's unfair for him to slay them without taking damage. I found it interesting how I could take on the orc army, and the golem, by myself. As a general rule, your hero alone is stronger than all of your lesser units combined.

The dialogue inbetween levels was also a neat addition. The word is Elven, though, not Elfin. I've never seen it spelt that way, so forgive me if I'm wrong by correcting you. The only real flaw in the game was that you sometimes skipped the first bit of the dialogue because you were still holding down space from the last battle, and there's no way to go back and read it. That kinda dragged down the storyline a bit.

I liked how the story didn't just stop after you pushed the orcs from your land. Forcing them to a ceasefire isn't good enough- you want to erradicate the threat. That's a cool notion. A brave one. Also, now that you can attack the army, standing behind them doesn't do any damage to you while you still reap through them.

I do disagree with Pitt's story, though. Traitors were tortured and killed in various fashions, depending on the civilisation. And anyone cowardly enough to turn on their own men is not likely to give their own lives to protect someone else's. I'm also somewhat perturbed that the orcs would help the army that had been slaying them for countless days and nights.

Simple graphics, with effective colouring and characteristics to still make clear distinctions between the different units, both of orcs and your own army. Music that you could listen to for, basically, ever... As far as I can tell, the only reason you changed the names of all the old units was because this was (supposedly) an entirely new story, with identical characters and similar stages :P Still, there were a few major tweaks to the gameplay, which I very much appreciated. Not a lot else to say, so well done on this!

Note: Dwarves are probably the best soldiers you can get, when compared to the price. Reasonably fast infantry with plenty of health and a decent sized axe to hack with.

Everybody loves a good zombie game.

A wee bit slow to start, but a wee bit too fast once you really got into it! I stopped playing after about 10 minutes, and 400-500 kills. Though the idea is slightly more original than a lot of zombie games, it was a cool storyline I guess. All you have is this rifle and a pile of ammo, but it would kind of suck knowing you're going to get eaten one way or another.

Hint: If you change to high quality, the game might lag and give you enough time to take care of all the zombies without being shredded.

Fair graphics, I guess, but some music was probably needed. Overall, not too bad at all, though I didn't see much of a reason in making the barricade optional.

GrimStudios responds:

I don't understand... you say music is needed, but there IS music. (???)
other than that, yeah, it lags like hell on high quality. Its all the zombies testing to see if they've been shot yet. :\

Hm...

To be completely honest, I didn' find this all that entertaining.

Surprisingly low amount of reviews for something that's supposedly held in high esteem. Interesting idea for the game, but I don't really get the storyline all that well... And the sound effects did kind of get on your nerves. Original idea though, but perhaps a little too simple.
